Virtual Private Building Management Systems

AIRSTAGE Cloud is a modern Cloud-Edge computing network operating on AWS. It provides managed software services that deliver genuine plug & play connectivity for an ever-growing list of automatically recognized building equipment.

Based on its innovative architecture, AIRSTAGE Cloud delivers a Virtual Private Building Management System to every account holder at a fraction of the cost of a traditional BMS.

A BMS is a necessary tool for increasing building efficiency, increasing building health, increasing building comfort, and for lowering building operating costs. In 2010 the U.S. Department of Energy ran a 2 year study in an attempt to determine the value of adding a BMS to a 20,000 ft2 commercial building. The results were clear: 22% energy savings, 25% return on investment, and a "dramatic decline" in occupant comfort complaints.

In the U.S. alone, there are nearly 6 million commercial buildings. Of them, over 90% are ≤ 50,000 ft2. And of those only about 13% have a BMS.

That's 4.7 million that do not have a BMS. In light of the above data, the obvious question is, WHY?

The answer, cost; cost due to complexity. Get rid of the complexity and the compelling economics make a BMS an economic and environmental imperative. That's the motivation behind AIRSTAGE Cloud (ASC); make it easy to understand, install, and operate a BMS.

The ASC team's mantra is manage & share expensive Cloud resources amongst all users and automate everything.

Apps

Site Manager

Site Manager is the web application that provides account users access to their virtual private BMS. It is a subscription based software service running in AIRSTAGE Cloud and accessible via a modern web browser running on a PC, tablet or mobile phone.

  7. Notification system provides both in-app and external SMS and/or email notifications.
  8. User permissioning system enables account administrators to restrict a user's access to specific sites and zones.

Service Manager

Service Manager is a specialized AIRSTAGE VRF diagnostic and control application. It enables remote monitoring and configuration of VRF systems during all phases of a VRF product's lifecycle, from installation to commissioning and on through trouble shooting.

Checklist List View - All Units

Features

  1. System list view displays all units in a VRF system with detailed configuration and capacity data about each.
  2. Detailed graphical view enables a view of the insides of outdoor units, indoor units, and refrigerant branch units.
  3. Status list provides a view of all units with all their associated current operational data.
  4. Check list continually compares current operational data to normal operating values.
  5. Operating status reporting feature. Capture and download the checklist as a PDF.
  6. Review up to 30 days of operating history.
  7. Error history logs.

Use cases

HVAC Contractors

Looking for ways to add additional revenue opportunities while at the same time ways to lower operating expenses?  Incorporating a building management system into your business model makes it possible to do both, simultaneously.

Selling a BMS as part of every installation will make the install and commissioning process go faster and it will enable your customers to reap the significant benefits of lower energy and maintenance expenses.

Selling a multi-year 24/7 maintenance contract with every job delivers recurring revenue.  Remote control and monitoring of your customers’ sites lowers operating expenses associated with these contracts.

HVAC Contractor Use Case

HVAC Contractor Use Case

  1. Add Plug & Play Building Management Systems to your product offering.
  2. Simple to learn.  Simple to install and configure.
  3. Install and commission jobs faster.  Commission VRF jobs in days instead of weeks.
  4. Manage high-margin 24/7 multi-year maintenance contracts remotely, limiting costly truck rolls.
  5. Energy optimization for your customers looking to lower operating costs.

Facility Manager

Facility management of multiple buildings depends on actionable data, a staff of skilled technicians, and a fleet of trucks. A BMS delivers actionable data automatically, usually before occupants detect a problem, enabling schedulable, proactive operations.

Thanks to its innovative architecture, an AIRSTAGE Cloud virtual private BMS makes it possible to install and operate a BMS for a fraction of the cost of a traditional BMS. It finally makes economic sense to install a BMS in every building.

Facility Management Use Case

Facility Management Use Case

  1. 24/7 remote monitoring and control of multiple sites.
  2. Move maintenance from run-to-failure to proactive scheduled operations.
  3. Zone based coordination & scheduled operation of building equipment increases energy efficiency and decreases occupant complaints.
  4. Text and email notifications ensures you are informed of issues as soon as they are detected wherever you are.
  5. Role based access control and permissioning system enables multiple user types to see and access services appropriate to their individual roles and permissions

Energy Services Company

A Building Management System (BMS) is a requirement for energy services companies actively managing their customers’ energy consumption. It provides the actionable data and the controls necessary to dramatically increase building efficiency. Fast, low-cost simultaneous installs by multiple teams is a key requirement. Unfortunately, traditional BMSs are complex, expensive and require time consuming installations and maintenance.

Thanks to its innovative architecture, the AIRSTAGE Cloud virtual private BMS makes it possible to install and operate a BMS for a fraction of the cost of a traditional BMS in a fraction of the time.

Energy Services Company Use Case

Energy Services Company Use Case

  1. Connect it and turn it on. Automatic recognition of equipment & automatic assembly of UI dashboards turns a 2-week job into a one-day job.
  2. A fraction of the cost and fraction of the complexity leads to a very short learning curve. Get your installers trained and out in the field in days instead of weeks.
  3. REST API based data access makes it easy to integrate with your client services software.

Energy Manager

You need actionable data to make informed energy decisions. A building management system makes that possible. The U.S. Department of Energy, has demonstrated that a BMS can lower operational expenses and increase occupant satisfaction. In a 20,000 ft² demonstration building the DoE measured a 22% decrease in energy consumption that translated into 25% annual decrease in energy expenses.

Thanks to its innovative architecture, the AIRSTAGE Cloud virtual private BMS makes it possible to install and operate a BMS for a fraction of the cost of a traditional BMS. It finally makes economic sense to install one in every building.

Energy Manager Use Case

Energy Manager Use Case

  1. Increase building efficiency while increasing building comfort.
  2. Fast, low-cost installation & operation.
  3. Easy coordination / cooperation with facilities management needs.
  4. An ROI that makes economic sense.

Building Owner

Adding a Building Management System (BMS) makes it possible to decrease operational expenses. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, BMSs lower operational expenses and increase occupant satisfaction. To date, thetraditional BMS has been too expensive to induce mass adoption despite the typical 20% decrease in energy consumption as measured in a DoE study.

Thanks to its innovative architecture, the AIRSTAGE Cloud virtual private BMS makes it possible to install and operate a BMS for a fraction of the cost of a traditional BMS. It finally makes economic sense to install a BMS in every building.
